Chasing the Dragon

This one stood all alone,
Burning embers fallen ones,
Lain upon -
Beaten, stabbed, locked up in his mind,
Fears nor subside in his dreams,
The demons came in his sleep oh if just a chance,
 Stealing every part of him,
Running futile efforts only the dragons flight takes him away,
Thus lain in peace only a moment,
Only to awaken in his hell again,
That voices screaming death comes your way,
Over and Over I'd pull from that poison,
Seeping slowly thru my soul like black tar,
No rest nor escape would come to thee,
So close to death each time,
Many a searchers an empty house,
Come undone more often than I should have,
Ride the dragon back in time,
Only a moments peace would I find,
Broken, bruised and left but a half life,
Fell down tis only but a distant memory,
That I was pulled from deaths grasp one last  Dark Poet ©
