In the End

life's often a funny thing ups and downs and ins and outs,
Silly faces laughter too, his and hers and hide and seek, oh how we must of thought we'd live forever,
You must of been there even then just the same,
Sunny summer days fanning in the shade, Narry thinking one day we shall pass just trying to catch a cool breeze by memories often forgotten,
Sinners and singers song writers and poets, mothers father's sons and daughters,
Some telling stories of days past beyond our own plays intertwined pieces of a knot,
You were there to hold a hand just the same,
Huddled around an old wood fire chardonnay and macrame,
She would stay and listen without a word to judge thee,
Sandcastle horseshoes lying in the grass watching clouds drift on,
Oh how things just slipped away from us,
Another time another place yet they will go away the lost ,
Presidents, Doctors, Lawyers, even simple layman,
Bitter mind and cold hearted fury firm in sunsets anyhow,
Would you sit and hold my hand just the same,
Givers and takers, lost and found,
I watched her in her walk steadfast so sure all the grass had died anyhow would it matter if we made one more pass please,
Once the time had come lying here waiting you must of heard them just the same,
Tis you they wanted maybe even needed could you hold their heart but one last time saying good bye I'll see you in the end my friend,
